Well i would prolly start looking for a 600 which im sure you knew already. I would get a yamaha :thumbs since they are obviously the fastest ones around! I have the fastest one one WMR of course but i know the 2nd and 3rd are yammies as well. :snack
In all seriousness find out which bike you like the best then check out that forum site that pertains to that bike. Like i am a member on the the R6-forum and there are r6's that go up for sale on there every day, Im sure the same goes for any of the forum sites. And ebay is actually a good place to find a nice deal, just make sure you look at plenty of pictures and contact the seller. Of course most will prolly be out of state, but its not really that bad to ship a bike. I bought mine from NY.
GL hope to see you out there riding soon

Thanks for the tips :worthy . I was told that a 600 isnt really a good started bike because of many different reasons. I was looking at maybe getting a Ninja 650r. But im still in the early stages of looking, and i will definetly register to forums and maybe find a good deal.
Thanks again :thumbs

A good starter bike would be a ninja 250, 500 or an sv 650/ninja 650R. A mmodern 600 is NOT a good starter bike.

lets not start this again ozzy people outgrow 250s in a month i think its a bad buy every one on here that bought a 250 wants a 6 within a month

You can learn a lot in 3-6 months on a 250. way more than you can learn on a 600. It is wayy lighter, much easier to learn corners on and the power is not as intimidating as a 600. i didn't say 250 is the best starter bike. if you go back to my post, I mentioned that the 500 and the 650 twins are just as good.

I started on a 400 as my first sportbike. It was a little less powerfull than a 650 twin like an sv. Before than I had a 50. Then worked my way up to a literbike. Had 2 biked between the 400 and the R1.

It is a 500 btw, but I am glad I started on a 500. There were a couple of situations when I first started that I might have grabbed to much brake or twisted a little to hard and had a bad experience. I probably should keep it but I've gotten the bug to get a CBR 600RR!

Not me but its alright. I do feel that it isn't necessary to start on a smaller bike, but I wasn't sure if I was going to like riding so I bought a cheaper bike to see what I thought. I bought this bike back in June and have loved every minute of seat time since. I also feel that have some self control so I won't get myself into trouble speeding with a bigger bike.
