View Full Version : Going tonight to look at a bike

I'm wondering if this sounds like it's too good to be true. I'm going to Hudsonville to look at a Black 2005 CBR 600rr with less than 1,000 miles on it. He wants 5,900 for the thing. He claims it is mint and never been dropped/layed down. Apparantly the thing just scares the piss out of him. What should I look out for on a bike with this few miles on it?

I know to be wary of painted fairings, and the missing tread (especially with it's mileage)

Any questions I should ask?

there's a 2005 Kaw 636 here in Battle Creek with 1175 miles on it, and the extended 5 year warranty as well...perfect condition. The guy said he'd take $6k for it.

Sounds like a deal, but I have my heart set on the CBR 600RR.

I went and looked at it today. He was right, the thing is flawless. The only thing that I didn't like was that there was a wear scratch where your belt buckle would be. I intend on getting a Tank Protector anyhow, so that will be covered. He has flush mount lights on the front and fender eliminator in the back. Stock exhaust and has had it's first maintenance checkup. The chain could use a little lube ;) But no big deal there. He installed Frame Sliders and it looks very good. No scratches on the Handlebars or sliders, no dents/dings/divots or scratches anywhere other than mentioned above. I put down a deposit and he's holding it for me. Thanks Mortarman (sp?) for turning me on to that deal. He's a really nice guy.

I will be looking forward to riding with you guys soon. It should be a matter of a week or 2. Hopefully just as this freakin heat wave lets up.

I feel like a prisoner :banned having to stare at Thunderstruck's bike every morning in my garage and not being able to ride it. Soon....very soon :mrgreen:

your willing to spend 5900 well then hehe ill save you 400 and sell you my TL1000R and you wont have to worry about if you can beat your buddys 600RR hehe, na if this is your first bike then im not selling you my TLR.

good to see you found a bike ya like, it sounds like its just barley broke in to.

nope ive got family shiznit after i get out of work sat and they are staying all day sunday, so another weekend blown to hell

;) At least i'll have a day of practice on an 80 before i get onto mine. Sunday at the spot, 2pm...thanks again Bae. I look forward to being ridiculed and thrown to the wolves....right of passage.

I see Im out for a weekend and you guys have to beat up on me.... :naughty David I here you were just as if not more scared then I was.... So if I were you, and Im GLAD im not, you should shut your ars before others start bringing stories up about your first ride.... BTW had a great time :fs: this weekend!!!
