Going to be picking up some gear...looking for some suggestions.
I'm looking for a gloss/metallic black helmet, not sure brand. Something well ventilated. Maybe this below?

Some decent gloves, not sure about Leather jacket or some other material. I prefer to keep black. I figure I'll end up heading to performance, but there is so much to choose from. Not too concerned about price, just trying to keep it reasonable. I want to be safe, if that means spending a pretty penny than fine.
and i'm gonna need me a couple of them wmriders.com stickers too

I'm a big fan of replaceable liners for helmets. I ride alot and sweat and it's nice to pull everything out and throw it
in the wash. I have had several Shoeis and they treated me well. My next helmet is a suomy helmet, but they are money.

yep i like Arai, OGK, Shoie the most for helmets, as far as textile or leather, well i think there is only 1 textil suit that is legal for race use, and if the racing community wont use it then i more than likely wont until it gets better. ive used leather since i started riding, and i crashed at grattan while racing at 100-130mph and that leather saved my ass literly, no holes no road rash only a heat burn from how hot the leather got from sliding across the pavement at speed. i still wear that jacket. get some good boots to, and leather pants if you can.
i go with the saying buy the best stuff you can afford.
and if your low on funds then and you cant afford a 5-6 hundy dollar helmet then figure out your head size and get a used one off of ebay then buy a new helmet pad and liner kit, i know arai, ogk, and shoie sell new liners. i have 3 arai helmets, 1 ogk, 1 shoie. only 1 of those helmets was full price and the insurance company paid for that one that was my first arai. my second i found at a dealer ship for 180 bucks sitting in the clearance section, my 3rd i got for 127 off of ebay and only paid a bit more for the new liners and cheek pads., my OGK i got for 300 in europe and i waived US dollars and he went for it(i think later after he did the US dollar to hungarian lai conversion he realized he just sold that 4 to 5 hundered dollar helmet for 3 hehehe, and my shoie i got on close out 90 bucks because they were getting rid of the color scheme.

I'll probably be able to drop about 1K on gear, so I'll get good stuff, and get the better and best once i rash this stuff up. :)

Leather for me. I have a textile that I wear sometimes but I almost always have my leather jacket on. I still need to get boot/pants. I laid down my R6 a couple years ago when I hit gravel in a corner. The leather gloves/jacket/helmet saved my ass.
