Hey Guys - New Guy Checking in. Rimmy from DSB pointed me over here. I am another East Sider but travel to the West side pretty often. Lived in Big Rapids for a few years (going to school) and still have several friends down around Benton Harbor. Nice site, I am going to do some reading and check it out.

Sweet bike. Glad you joined the site. Whenever your going to be in the area just post it on the site. I'm sure you'll be able to get a few people out for a ride. I'm usually up for it.

There are some of us that do track days. With Grattan and Gingerman so close its nice. I need to get a set of full leathers for next year so I can hit a few. That, and get a track bike too. Unfortunately I have to put a roof on the house first.

New to site :D I've been riding for close to 27 years. My first bike was a 1979 KE100, My first licensed Road Bike was a 1986 Kawi Eliminator 900. Currently on my 3rd R1 (98, 02, 06)

What do you think of the new R1? I've heard a lot of good things about it.

The 04-06's are awesome - The top end power is insane, though I miss the low end grunt of my 02. I wasnt crazy about the stock brakes, but to be honest I havent rode stock brakes on any of my bikes for long so I might not have gave them a fair comparison. The Size and feel of the bike rock - very nimble feeling. Some people also complain about a hole in the middle of the power band, but I had a full Graves, PCIII, and Velocity stacks on mine before it ever saw the road so I am not really to sure how bad it is. Really looking forward to the 07's - I am hoping they take some of that R6 technology and use it on the R1.

Yeah, I heard that had great top end power. I guess they have a patent out for a valve acuation they were gonig to use on the 07. Not for sure if they are going to use it or not. Just rumors, but its supposed to increase the RPM's. I have a Honda 05 1000rr, it was a toss up between that and the R1.....But they had the repsol edition on the floor so needless to say. 1000rr it is.

No doubt - Gotta love the look of the Repsol bikes or any race replica bike for that matter. I have never ridden a Honda yet, Kawis, Suzukis, and Yamaha, but not the Honda.
