I was surfing eBay for helmets and came across an auction that had a 616 area code listed. So after some digging with Google I found this site.

http://www.ridersdiscount.com/

They have a crapload of auctions on eBay.

Bae, find the guy. He is a perfect sponsor for this site. I know that we already have Performance, but if this guy can get even cheaper gear, hell yeah!

Looks like he is right around the corner from Performance. It isn't them, is it? :?

Owners name is Greg, I believe. Nice guy, ex-racer, and great deals on gear. He can get stuff overnite. Helped me out with some Arai helmet gear, and riding gear.

Thanks for the info.

Does he have a brick and mortar or just click and order?

That's located on James over by PM isn't it? Every time I've tried going in there they're closed. Didn't look like he had much but some coats anyways.

Greg has a large shipping/receiving area where he does packaging and delivery at his store. I think he gets alot of his product from a large distributor in Wisconsin. You can visit his retail store here in Holland, and go thru catalogs for pricing. He has a few diff helmets and jackets, etc in the showroom to try on for sizing.

He opened up his garage area and showed me a nice Suzuki TL1000s race bike that he was planning on racing again. Totally tricked out V-twin for racing at the track. Once again, nice guy, legit business. Even gave me some free stuff and just told me come back again if I ever needed any gear.

Performance has treated me well. I like the guys there and they give me the players price on stuff.

I have bought stuff from Shawmutt, Village, Gars, etc...

Depends on the situation.

sometimes you need something NOW so you get it where ever you can. And for that it is the store fault for not stocking it. But when you can plan ahead and have to order something it's nice to have PM who seem to take their jobs very seriously. So far they haven't lied to me or given me false expectations and that is one of my pet peves.

if I break something and need honda parts I call Gars. They get it next day for me.

If I plan ahead, like Edge I'll stick w. PM

I appreciate that. :bravo

I'm not a big fan of gossip, but I almose feel I have to on this subject(sorry). He(Brian) used to do very similar to what I do now for Performance about 2.5ish years ago. But, went behind Kevin's back, stole all his exact suppliers, and opened his own place. That's the short, nice version of it. Kev's such a nice guy, that he wouldn't even say anything about it if I ddn't.

I'll be staying with performance for most of my stuff. If I need OEM yamaha parts that day I may break down and use shamut but like others said, if it's a planned purchase performance is the way to go. Performance has alot of gear in the showroom that we can try on and the will beat most prices!! Just ask em!

Recently I was looking into buying boots and I looked at a few places in GR and no one had boots availible to try on, and if they did it was limited to one type usually. I stopped in at performance and they have damn near every boot Alpine star makes sitting on the display. I've been dealing with Kevin and the folks there for years and have never had a complaint.

That sucks that someone got done like that, but I have to say my loyalty lies to my wallet. I have to go for the best deal. I try to deal with my local boys up here in GRap, but damn the internet gives some great deals.

As long as the chit isn't stolen, I gotta go with it.

But, you will match all prices, so when I get ready I will give you a shout.

the net is nice but it never gives free tech advice or loaner tools when your in a pinch. Ill stick with performance even if it a little higher sometimes. you cant beat their customer service anywhere

You guys that swear by Performance have to remember that not all of us live by them. I would love to stop by there a lot, but it is an hour from my house.

I have my local place that is gold to me. I ride with them and party with them.

Every once in a while I get to go by Performance. Now that it is riding season, maybe more. 8)

I understand that, I moved to Jenison which is only 15-20minutes from Performance and it still seems a bit far because I was used to it being only 3.5minutes away. I don't get in there near as much as I used to due to time/money constraints.
