Not to rub it in, but damn. PP just sold her Ninja 500 for $2600. I tell you this because I want you to know that there a great deals out there. Her bike was damn near mint.

Don't settle on the first one you look at just to have a bike. Be willing to walk away if it doesn't feel right.

Now, if i could take that advice I would be $1000000s ahead. :mrgreen:

I actually just emailed a couple of people on those. I kinda like that blue one from K-Zoo though. I'm leaning towards a 250 vs a 500 just to keep the cost down.

Have you seen the new Ninja 250's...... I would consider one as a track bike learning tool.....nice looking bike.


they go for $3,000 ish list..... probably get one brand new in the $2800 range.

Problem with the old version Ninja's ----- they have an odd tire size.....making it darn near impossible to buy modern sticky rubber for them.

I will say though --- my wife started on the Ninja EX500.

It is an old-school design....easy to learn on....but incredible heavy. I lost count at the number of times she dropped the bike because of the weight being distributed high in its design.

Good bike, easy to learn on......old, old school design.


---- I'd Keep an eye out for an SV650.....or maybe an Ducati Monster.... or hell......a Buell.

I have looked at the new 2008 Ninja 250's but no one has any in stock and after all the taxes they are going for close to $4500.

thats the problem......

the dealer tacks on an extra $1200 in misc. crap.

they also are charging more than list, because you can't get them yet.

In a year.....they'll be dirt cheap.

I hope they make the 2009 500R's to look like the 250R's. I guess that blue one has a cracked fairing and only has 600 miles. Is the break in period complete yet or not?

BTW I am checking the GR craigslist a few times a day so unless it is a crazy good deal, I'll probably have caught it. I'd really like to buy one from a member to keep the money in the group so help out a fellow member.

KBB on that bike says $2525... so if she goes down to 2000 thats probably not a bad deal. I might give her a little crap about the fairing, maybe get another 100 off if you can. I don't have a truck or trailer so I can't help with hauling it. I could probably go over there one day to look at it with you... depending on which day you were going to look at it.
