get a cheap older bike. 600 or smaller. And get your endorsement, a lot of good information in the DOT booklet.

Welcome. Your first thread (http://wmriders.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4457&p=17723#p17723) got quite a few responses that might help you out with starting.

theres a lot of posters here who like to scour craigslist and ebay, so I'm sure we'll keep you posted for potential learner bikes. If you get with some of us we could get you on a bike someday i'm sure. I'm looking to get a small dirt bike for my gf to learn on soon, so maybe you could try riding that.

Welcome :thumbs My first bike was an 04 suzuki gs500f. Great bike to learn on. If you can, try to get a used one as your first bike, that way if you ever drop it, it won't hurt as bad as if it were a new one.

Welcome to the site. I'm buying a bike for my wife to ride this summer. She knows how to ride a little, but i'm going to send her to a ride course. You can learn alot and get our endorsment at the same time. :thumbs
